തൊഴിൽ സംബന്ധമായും, പഠന സംബന്ധമായും അമേരിക്കയിൽ കുടിയേറിയ മലയാളികൾ അനവധിയാണ്. ഈ സ്വപ്ന രാജ്യത്തിൽ വൻനഗരങ്ങളുടെ തിരക്കുകൾ ഇല്ലാതെ പ്രകൃതിരമണീയമായ അർക്കാൻസാ എന്ന സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ഒരു കൗണ്ടി ആണ് ബെന്റോൺ. വാൾമാർട്, ജെ ബി ഹണ്ട്, ടൈസൺ എന്നീ ആഗോളവ്യാപാര ശൃംഖലകളുടെ ആസ്ഥാനം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത് ഇവിടെയാണ്. അതിനാൽ തന്നെ IT ജീവനക്കാരുടെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് ബെന്റോൺവിൽ. ഇവിടെ ഏകദേശം 250ൽ പരം മലയാളി കുടുംബങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്. കാതങ്ങൾ അകലെയാണെങ്കിലും സ്വന്തം നാടിനോടുള്ള സ്നേഹവും കരുതലും ഒരു പൊടിക്കെങ്കിലും കൂടുതലാണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ മലയാളികൾക്കിടയിൽ. ജനിച്ചുവളർന്ന നാടിന്റെ നന്മയും, മൂല്യങ്ങളും, കരുതലും വരും തലമുറകളിലേക്ക് പകർന്നു നൽകണം എന്ന ആഗ്രഹത്തിൽ നിന്നാണ് നന്മ എന്ന അസ്സോസിയേഷൻ പിറവിയെടുത്തത്.
പേര് പോലെ തന്നെ…നാടിന്റെ മണമുള്ള നല്ല ഓർമ്മകൾ പങ്കു വെക്കുവാനും, പരസ്പരം ഒരു കൈത്താങ്ങേകുവാനും, കുട്ടികളുടെ കലാ-സാംസ്കാരിക താല്പര്യങ്ങൾ വളർത്തിയെടുക്കുവാനും… എല്ലാത്തിനും ഉപരിയായി… സ്വന്തം നാടിന്റെ ആഘോഷങ്ങളെല്ലാം തനിമ വിടാതെ കൂടുതൽ ഭംഗിയോടെ ഒത്തു ചേർന്ന് ആഘോഷിക്കുവാനും ഒക്കെയായി ഉള്ള ഒരു സൗഹൃദ കൂട്ടായ്മ, നന്മയുടെ കൂട്ടായ്മ.
